Next week, we will be meeting for the last time before going on our Christmas break. Since today's meeting had to be cut short, on December 20 we will be working on four scenes instead of the usual three.

In the first scene, a fuzzy-wuzzy superstar meets his number one psychotic fan. In the second, two smitten kittens plan their non-wedding under the pouring rain. A cunning lawyer cracks an apparently unbreakable marine in the third scene. The fourth and final scene features an exquisitely precise nanny facing an interview with a puzzled employer.

You're all invited to join us!

Here are the scenes we will be working on on December 13. This time it is all about putting insubordinate people in their place. In the first clip, taken from Young Frankenstein, an unconventional scientist who's trying to make his ancestor proud discovers his staff isn't as professional as he might have hoped. In the second, from The Devil Wears Prada, the editor-in-chief of a fashion magazine reprimands a smug assistant. In the the third, a Dark Arts professor tells off a distracted pupil in Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone.

If you find any of these scenes appealing, feel free to join us!

Here are the scripts we will be analysing together on December 6. The November 29 meeting will have to be postponed because of the parent-teacher conference taking place on that day.

All scripts rotate around food, but in very different manners. The first scene from Kramer vs Kramer features a dialogue between a frustrated father and an ice-cream craving son. In the second scene, from Forrest Gump, a talkative fellow discusses the merits of chocolates and shoes with a stranger. In the third scene, from The Emperor's New Groove, a resentful advisor seeks revenge after being fired by her former employer, tasting delicious spinach puffs in the process.

If you're interested in any of these scripts, come and join us!

On November 15, at 2.30 PM, we will be meeting to work together on the following three scripts.

The first one is a monologue taken from the film Pulp Fiction, the second is a fight scene from My Best Friend's Wedding and the third one contains the beginning and the end of Annie Hall. We will read them together, analyse the accent and the intonation of each and then the following week, on November 22, auditions will be held to select who will play who.

Each of the above scripts contains a link to a YouTube clip, so that you can start exploring on your own.

Your presence at the November 15 meeting is not compulsory to participate in the November 22 audition, but will certainly be appreciated. Anyone who feels like angrily spewing out powerful Bible passages, resentfully yelling at a frenemy or gently dishing out witty jokes about life is more than welcome to join us.
